Congratulations Jay Gossert!
December 8th 2018
Our very own Cub Master, Jay Gossert, was awarded the HIGHEST Scout Leader training honor of 'Wood Badge'. Wood Badge is the pinnacle of leadership and outdoors skill training within the Scouting program. Its purpose is to develop skilled leaders who can strengthen Scouting units in achieving the mission of the Boy Scouts of America. It provides participants with firsthand knowledge regarding how teams develop and achieve excellence, and lets participants experience Scouting through the eyes of their youth members. Participants take part in an active learning process through involvement in planning, development, presentation and assessment. At Wood Badge training, each participant will achieve a global view of Scouting as a family of interrelated, values based programs providing age appropriate activities for our youth. They will become familiar with contemporary team leadership and development concepts along with develop a renewed commitment to provide Scouting with the best possible leadership. You can find more about Wood Badge here. CONGRATULATIONS JAY!!! You have achieved such an amazing accomplishment and are a such a great role model for these kids.
Raingutter Regatta 2018
November 18th 2018
Our annual Raingutter Regatta was all smiles, laughs, and a whole lot of creative looking boats! Held at Western Carteret Fire and EMS Station 12, the boys had to blow through drinking straws to create the wind to move their boats down the water filled track. All of the boys did such a great job figuring out how to coordinate the wind-blowing with the position and movement of their boats. A big congratulations to Brody Klatt of the Webelos for coming in 1st place overall!
Webeloree Campout 2018
October 27th 2018
Our 2018 Webloree was a success! Friday evening had a few severe thunderstorms roll through, but come Saturday morning the sun was out! This year the boys had extensive outdoor training which included first aid, how to identify poisonous plants & snakes in the wild, leave no trace guidelines & expectations, Sea Scout land fishing, and fire safety. All of the boys participated in stations run by our outstanding leaders & special guests. After a full day of activities and completion of their Webelo requirements, everyone bundled up and attended the camp fire. The night was filled with hilarious skits put on by our leaders, laughs, and camp fire songs. Way to go boys!!
First Pack Meeting 2018
October 14th 2018
Our first pack meeting of the new Scouting year, lead by Cub Master Jay, was delayed due to Hurricane Florence. After our small community was hit hard, we came together to help one another rebuild. We kicked off the start of popcorn sales and played a handful of hilarious popcorn games between Leaders & Scouts. Many of the Scouts received their Summer Time Award for participating in at least 3 summer time events!

Our annual Pinewood Derby was nothing short of AMAZING! Carteret County Speedway was so gracious allowing us to hold our derby at their facility. Every single derby car showed how creative our boys truly are. Each Scout raced within their Den 3 times with the top speed racer from each Den racing in the finals for the top 3 overall speed winners!

What an amazing turn out! We had roughly 50 Scouts attend the annual Veterans Day Parade in Morehead City, NC. Our Pack marches in this parade every year to honor our local Veterans.
October 27-29, 2017
The WEBELOREE is an overnight outing for Webelos and their parent. This campout is designed for the Webelos and Arrow of light boys to work closely with Boyscouts and Boyscout Leaders. The Webelos work towards earning their Walkabout Adventure and Stronger Faster Higher Adventures. Arrow of Light boys work with Boy Scouts on their Outdoorsman and Into The Woods Adventures. We had great weather this year (no rain, woohoo!) and all of the boys had a great time learning, growing, and enjoyed the specific tasks and responsibilities they were given to be in charge of. We're so proud of these kids!
Scout Family Campout
October 13-15, 2017
Our annual fall family campout was a sweet success! This years camp theme was S'mores and everyone participated in style. Each Pack who attended decorated their camp entrance with a fun S'more themed game for the boys to play. There were tons of activities for each Den to complete for their specific awards and badges. Our Saturday night bomb fire was complete with skits, laughs, songs, and a movie. Our next family campout will be in the Spring, we can't wait!
Pack 446 Welcomes New Cubmaster
September 17, 2017
At our first Pack meeting of the 2017-2018 year, we sadly said goodbye to Cubmaster Dave McCubbin who is moving forward to Troop 61. We enthusiastically welcomed Jay Gossert to the 446 Cubmaster position who was previously the leader of our Wolf Den in 2015 and Bear Den in 2016. Lucky for us, Dave is this years 446 Arrow of Light Den leader, and when these two leaders are together - ANYTHING is possible!!
